Surah Al-Qadar Chapter:97 Translation

1. Verily, We have revealed this (Qur’an) in the Night of Qadar .
2. And what do you think (that) what is Shab-e-Qadar .
3. Shab-e-Qadar (in virtue and blessing and reward) is better than a thousand months .
4. In this (night), the angels and the Holy Spirit (Jibraeel) descend with everything (of good and blessings) by the command of their Lord .
5. That night, peace is peace until dawn.

Surah Al-Qadar Chapter:97 Verse 1 Explanation

Although the Holy Qur’an is not mentioned here, but the object is the Holy Qur’an. He said that the Qur’an is not the word of any angel or any human being. It is not the authorship of any of these individuals or scholars. We are the ones who take it down, this is our word.

There is no other innovation in it. And We have sent it down in this night, which is an incomparable night in terms of value and dignity, or sent it down in that night which is a destiny maker, with the blessing of which not only the star of the destiny of the people of Makkah and the residents of Hijaz , but all humanity woke up. In that night, such a book was revealed in which he gave mankind his identity and the knowledge of his creator. Allama Qurtubi has explained the reason for calling this night Lailatul Qadar as follows .

It is called Shab al-Qadar because Allah revealed in it a book with great dignity, on a Messenger with great dignity and for a nation with great dignity. His glory was described as that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) shortened the ages of his Ummah and thought that he would not be able to do as many righteous deeds in his short life as the first nations did in their long ages. So Allah gave Lailatul Qadar to His Messenger who stayed for a thousand months.

The greatness and blessing of Shab Qadar has been clearly stated that it is such a glorious and blessed night that its greatness and blessings cannot be estimated. His greatness and blessing is because he has big decisions related to this universe. When the days of the small governments of this world are considered to be of great importance in which they decide their year,round plans, who can estimate the importance of that night in which the divine program for the entire universe is determined and all The world is decided.

Although these decisions are related to both mercy and punishment, installation and isolation, victory and defeat, but they are from him, every decision of which is justice. Based on mercy and wisdom and whose every work is done for the welfare of this overall world, therefore whatever happens in this night is blessed as a whole . It has been declared for more than a thousand months.

The purpose of the description of these attributes, as we pointed out above, is to inform the opponents of the Qur’an that if anyone considers the book revealed in such a great and blessed night as priesthood, Astrology. The gift that Allah gave mercy to His Prophet is now being described. He answered the question himself. He said, do you know what Lailatul Qadar is ? He himself replied that it is better than one night, a thousand months. How is this improvement and superiority ? What is done in it in one night is better than the action of a thousand months in which there is no Lailatul Qadar.

Allama Qurtubi has expressed his opinion in these words. That in this night so many good things are distributed as they are not divided even in a thousand months and it can also be understood that the work (descending the Qur’an) done for the advice and welfare of a person in this one night is more than the efforts of a thousand months. It is better and better. As for which month is this night and on which date does it come ? The month was decided by the Holy Quran itself that the Quran was revealed in Ramadan. It has been proved that this night is a night in the month of Ramadan.

There is a great difference of opinion among scholars about the determination of history. About forty sayings are mentioned, but these words are present in Sahih Hadith.۔ To find Lailatul Qadar in the last decade of Ramadan Sharif. It is in the second hadith that search in the odd nights of the last decade۔ The opinion of most scholars is that the twenty-seventh night of Ramadan Sharif is Lailatul Qadar. Hazrat Abi bin Ka’b used to swear by him. There are many wisdoms in not saying that it is not fixed so that Muslims spend at least five odd nights in remembrance and worship of Allah if not more than in search of this night.

If the night had been fixed, people would have woken up and worshiped only on that night, and if that night had been fixed, those who spent it in remembrance and worship would have been declared deserving of a great reward, but those who spent it in sins would also be punished severely. I would have been afflicted because they recognized the Night of Qadar and wasted it in disobedience to God.

Therefore, the requirement of mercy is to keep him intoxicated so that if someone sacrifices sins on this night in ignorance, then he will get the sin of an ordinary night and those who wake up stay awake for many nights. The fact is that the night that is spent in the memory of its real owner is also Lailatul Qadar for the people of love. If the closeness of the beloved is blessed, then all the nights are Lailatul Qadar, just as every day of his meeting is the blessed day of Friday.

Surah Al-Qadar Chapter:97 Verse 4 Explanation

It was narrated from Hazrat Anas that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said . That is, Lailat-ul-Qadar is brought down to earth by Gabriel with a group of angels, and this group of angels prays for forgiveness and supplication for mercy for every servant who engages in the remembrance of Allah Almighty while standing or sitting. There is also a tradition that they shake hands with them.

How fortunate and exalted is Iqbal, the servant who spends this night in the remembrance of his Lord, Gabriel and the angels descend from heaven to come to him to receive the honor of shaking hands with him and seek his forgiveness. Praying for forgiveness. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to make special arrangements for the last decade of Ramadan Sharif. Hazrat Aisha says that it was the custom of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) that when this last decade started, he would tie his veil.

He used to revive the nights with the remembrance of God and also wake up his family for worship. Hazrat Aisha said that as much as the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to do Mujahideen in this last decade, he would not have done such a mujahida at any other time۔ In this last decade, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to sit in I’tikaf and this routine continued till the end and encouraged his slaves to sit in I’tikaf as well.

After the departure of the Holy Prophet, the Mothers of the Believers also followed this Sunnah of their Master۔ In the verse, Al-Ruh means Gabriel Amin. In view of his majesty, he was specially mentioned. Some scholars have also said that Al-Ruh is a genre of angels which is more subtle than ordinary angels. Just as we cannot see angels, ordinary angels cannot see this genre because of its delicacy.

Some scholars believe that Al-Ruh means mercy. That is, the group of angels who descend on the earth that night under the leadership of Gabriel, brings with them the indiscriminate treasures of God’s mercy. In other words, this descent of the angels does not happen by itself, but Allah orders them to go to the earth and circle its partners and warriors, wherever there is a ummah of my beloved, who is sitting with the candle of my remembrance, reach him.

And give him the promise of mercy from us۔ Shake hands with him and pray for forgiveness for him. What is the glory of the beloved of Allah and what is the glory of His slaves for His help. Hazrat Shah Abdul Aziz Sahib writes at this point: Angels descend from the sky that night and spirits descend from the aliens to meet perfect human beings and gain light from the light of their deeds and the love of their beloved and God. I am deaf to the pleasure of the passion that is thrusting in their chest.

Surah Al-Qadar Chapter:97 Verse 5 Explanation

This night is the night of peace and security. The whispers of self and devil do not disturb the devotees. With great respect, they keep loving their Lord. Enjoy His remembrance. This spirit-loving and faith-inspiring state continues throughout the night until dawn. Some scholars have explained its meaning that after the angels’ statement of landing on the ground, the state of their meeting is now being mentioned that they greet all the people of the statement that night and shake hands with the people.

One of the characteristics of this night is that the prayer that is asked is accepted. A person should actively look for this night, not act lazily . Stay awake on the five odd nights of the last decade of Ramadan with enthusiasm and spend them mentioning Allah . When he asks for dua, he should pray in such a comprehensive prayer that there will be no regret left.

Hazrat Ahsha Siddiqa (RA) said, O Messenger of Allah, if I am blessed with Lailatul Qadar, what should I pray for ? Holy Prophet said, worship like this. O Allah ! You are very forgiving, you love the forgiving, forgive my sins too. A person who stays in Lailat-ul-Qadar with faith and to get reward, all his previous sins are forgiven.
